This Green Jobs Workshop is part of our global consultation with UNEP as a part of the Green Jobs for Youth Pact. Your participation and input that will be published and reported back to the Global Sustainable Development Congress in Bangkok, Thailand, and to the UN High Level Political Forum in New York, USA, in July 2024. This is one of 5 workshops; happening in Africa, Europe, Asia, North America, and South America.
The Green Jobs for Youth Pact (GJYP) is a collaborative initiative by the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Generation Unlimited, working with young people, governments and other partners to create meaningful opportunities for youth by 2030.
To gain input from North American youth on green jobs through a survey and discussions during an online conference on June 6th. All input will be collected into a report by SOS International and UN Environment Programme, to present at the Times Higher Education Summit in Bangkok on June 10th and the United Nations Political Forum in New York in July 2024. The report will be used to add credibility and further the implementation of green jobs through the Green Jobs for Youth Pact, while also creating a global youth definition of green jobs.
